I work in clay, throwing bowls and hand making eggs and sculptures. I specialise in Raku firing because I enjoy the finishes I can achieve with the glazes. The unpredictable nature of the process is part of the excitement. The volatile swathes of colour and texture lead me on into further and further experimentation. I particularly enjoy the different volcanic surfaces and the delicate iridescence that come out of the kiln using this technique.

I value honesty and with that personal integrity both in my work and in my life. I have long dreamed of being part of a group of creative people who offer each other mutual support which is why I am an enthusiastic member of ArtWrights. It is my belief that the talents of different people when gathered in such an organisation combine to make the whole much larger than the sum of its parts.
